Ebony smiled, she hadn't always been known for her loyalty. You do still want me, don't you? You haven't gone off me since I awoke? She felt ashamed, as if Ace no longer liked her, or saw anything in her at all.
Ebony lighted up, her ears pricked forward as she nuzzled her stallion. I would love to have your foal more than anything in the world. She nickered softly.
Huda looked down upon the two leads with disgust, sure she wanted to still be friends with Ebony but the way the filly pranced about like the queen of everything was enough. Jealousy crawled through every vein in her body as she turned away from the beach and headed straight for the never ending river which she knew would lead her straight to the land of the Damis herd. The more she thought about how Ebony betrayed her trust and lied to her about her first friend in the area, Ella, coming to the Segreto herd the faster she went. From walk to trot to canter to gallop Huda pushed herself on. It was only Ebony's first day as lead and the two love birds had abandoned their duties to go play on the beach without asking if Huda or Lessa wanted to go. Huda's pounding heart raced faster as the barren landscape of the Death plains appeared before her. Determined to find Ella Huda took her fist steps onto he Damis herd lands.
Ebony looked up to see Huda cantering off past them. Huda! She whinnied. When the roan mare ignored her, she smiled, at least now it was just her and Ace, no tagalongs, just her and her stallion.
Ace watched Huda go and somehow knew what she was doing. Maybe he should have invited her and Lessa to come with him and Ebony, too. But he didn't force Huda to come back, he just watched her go. Then he nuzzled Ebony again, happy that she'd accepted to have a foal.
Ebony continued to nuzzle Ace, he was a magnifient horse, he did not need Huda to prove himself, if she was untrustworthy and unloyal, she would not be missed.
