So it seems the stories were true... Fajer had seen her, she should have known such a strange stallion as he would've been able to pick her sounds up. It was actually quite amusing to hear the five year old telling the eight year old how the rope swings...
What ever his glance at her was supposed to mean, she was not going to let her self be swept off her hooves so easily. She's learned the hard way...
She emerged from the clearing, slinking in all her glistening glory, ears pricked, mouth in a frown. Staring at the older stallion, who was obviously stricken and in pain.
edit: eep, posted too early.
She cast a sideways glance at fajer, before looking back at him. Figureing the battle was over and it was safe to emerge.

Don't hurt yourself, I'll give you a head start. He said politely, stepping aside for Ace to run off.
Fajer had many tricks up his sleeve but not a soul would know until after the race.

"Do I really need a head start? I mean, you might stay here as a trick and then leave when I run off."

She heard the dialogue, and paused. There was a growing rippleing in the flanks of the older stallion. A twitching in the muscles. Like one just before an enormous burst of speed.
Injured, though he was, she recognized the look of confidence in the eyes of an experianced runner, something she could empathise with. But was he not too weak? He reeked so awfully of blood...
"It would be smarter to back down and live to see another day" she stated, matter of factly. "Spirit and honor don't count for anything if they get you killed for nothing."
Of all the many things she knew, she knew this to be the truest.

Ace heard what Lessa the Radiant said. He thought...maybe that was a good idea. He could always battle Fajer some other time, when he was fully healed and healthy again. And he could also practice some more moves at The Never Ending River. He made the decision, standing up to Fajer, his face right in the stallion's, and said, "I change my mind. I back down from this battle."

The mares are mine. Wise choice, I respect you, now next time you better be strong and defeat me, but never come on my lands, only when I am here.
He looked at Ace, and nodded his head for him to leave, he then turned to his prize.
You are now rightfully mine, I will lead you to my home and you can rest. He nickered as he went to the mares and nudged them to Emera. He looked back at Ace.
Any other words?

"Congratulations for not winning when we battle next time!" Ace said, half-rearing and then trotting off back to his homeland. He knew he'd let the two mares down, but he would also let them down by dying. He wouldn't let them down next time...

Fajer chuckled as he left and walked to Emera.
That one was for you, baby He nickered suavely, nuzzling her.
He turned to the two mares, Come now! I must bring you to my home. He walked behind them and nudged them on. He walked behind them as they headed home.

She watched him go, her frown deepening as she saw little droplets of blood flicking off his hooves as he trotted... he wouldn't be able to keep that pace up for long...
Still, she stayed, unsure. Not quite ready to devote herself to a herd. The mountain still called, it had grown to a humming in the back of her head. She had to go that way... Ace was heading that way...
Quietly she thought.

OOC: sry i've been so busy today being the 4th.
IC:
Emera watched with blazing confidence as blow by blw the bay was defeated. She felt a surge of happiness knowing she would have two mares lower than herself to do her bidding. It enlightened her even more that the proud palomino will have to grovel in her presence. She knew they would be unhappy with Fajer and herself which made it all the better for her. No one mattered but him.
She also felt that they were not worthy to have Fajer's colts but she accepted them into the herd. Afterall this was her idea to expand their herd. Maybe when Fajer recovers we can breed she thought with a smirk.
She nuzzled him in return and gave him a worried glance as she seen the blood running down his legs. She glanced back at the mares and said, " hurry up! You better not try to run or you won't fare as well as your bay did." she smirked at them and trotted off after fajer

He wondered who had won the battle. (OOC: yah, and so do I) Fajer seemed to be putting up a good fight and didn't need him to assist. He slipped away again into the blackness or the setting sun.
((Nevermind, I know now))
