Ace was glad to be home again after the long battle between him and Fajer. He watched his river flowing softly around the bends, and happily drank the cool water. Then he dumped himself in it. His hoofs barely touched the sandy bottom, and the current wasn't strong so he could swim. The blood washed off of his body, and then Ace climbed out of the river, lying quietly in the sun, enjoying himself.

Slowly she came out of the brush that surrounded the river... There he was, still reeking of blood, splashing around in the river...
He certainly didn't look too worse for wear... She might as well go check on him anyway. She cantered down the slope leading down to the river, letting out a whinny to alert him of her presence. Spooking an injured horse was not in their best intrest, or hers. As she approached the severity of his condition really hit her, it was going to be a long while before this one was in top shape again... Could she wait that long.
Again, the mountain called.
She ignored it for now, looking at him in pity.
"Man, he got you good, didn't he?" Without asking, she started licking at the crusts of blood on his neck, tending to him like a mother would tend to her foal.

Ace looked up in surprise. There was the mare that had told him not to fight anymore. He wondered why she was here..."Yeah, he did," Ace said, then he told her "Thanks." for licking his wounds. He was also telling her thanks for saving his life. She did, really. If she hadn't said what she'd said back where he and Fajer once were, he would be racing, racing...then burst.

Huda had watched the whole fight from the sidelines, glad she had nothing to do with it. She was no stalker but she felt for the near dead stag and had followed him to his lands. Flints struck the grass as she approached the two horses she recognized from being at the fight, one a mare and the other Ace the stallion.Questioningly she nicked softly, as she drew closer. She was not surprised by how the stallion looked, for she had seen how the fight went and how each and every attack was made. Huda stopped by the river and waited for the stallion and mare to acknowledge her presence.

Ace had smelled another mare nearby and he looked up again to see Huda. He recognized her, for she had watched the fight. "Hello," he nickered.

Deep brown orbs glanced at the other mare curious, was she part of Ace's herd? Looking back at the stallion Huda took another few steps closer and pushed her maw to his side, gentle as she slowly murmered in a barly audiable voice I'm sorry you lost the fight . . . She really didn't know what to say so she had said the first thing that came to mind. Taking a step back she could hardily believe what had happened in the valley.

"Aw, it's fine, I'll get him next time," Ace told Huda. He wondered if she had a herd, maybe she would like to join his...

I small smile played on Huda's maw as she listened to Ace's words. Her express changed almost instantly though, it was what she had always found nerve-wreaking asking to join a herd. Wary of what the stallion would say she nickered You know, I don't have a herd, yet Looking into the stallions eyes she continued Could I join your herd? Anxiety crawled through her but she ignored it forcefully. Again she glanced to wards the other mare still wondering if she was part of Ace's herd.

"Of course you may!" Ace nickered happily. He was excited now that he had a new mare in his herd...he turned to Lessa. "what about you?" he asked, "you don't have to join though if you don't want to."

She sighed, stepping back away from her ministrations and turning to the mare. Ah, she'd smelled her at the fight.
"Its okay" She said, "I'm not part of the herd, I don't belong to anyone yet" She smiled softly, looking back at Ace. "But he'll need some looking after until he gets better, he won't really feel it until he wakes up tomorrow" She winked.

Ace's words were music to Huda's delicate lobes. She had longed to live in the segreto herd for a while now. To herself she laughed, for everything that The mare had said had been true. I don't believe I've introduced myself, I'm Huda. The second part of the mares speech confused Huda, did she mean she would stay and help or was she implying that Huda would have a lot to do the next few days even weeks.

"Welcome to the Segreto Herd, Huda," Ace said, smiling.

"Yes, I'm staying for alittle while, until he is better" And to emphasize her point, she trotted a short distance away and began to graze, swishing her tail and inviting the others to join her.
